Arrests made after gunshot

PABLO — Two brothers were arrested on felony charges and held over the weekend after an incident allegedly involving the discharge of a firearm.

Jonathan Charlo, 24, and Ryan Charlo, 25, were both arrested in Pablo Saturday afternoon after a neighbor in the Northwoods Trailer Court called police to report a gunshot.

According to reports, the brothers got into a fight over attending to a child’s birthday party. A brief scuffle ensued and Ryan allegedly pulled a pistol and pointed it at his brother. Jonathan then punched him in the face and Ryan allegedly fired a single shot into the air. Two witnesses observing the fight provided police with accounts.

When officers detained Jonathan, he allegedly lied or was not forthcoming about his brother’s location. He was arrested for a felony count of obstructing justice. Tribal officers eventually located Ryan and arrested him for assault with a weapon and criminal endangerment, both felonies.

During his initial appearance Monday afternoon, Jonathan was released from jail on his own recognizance. Ryan was seen in Judge Chuck Wall’s court after press time.
