Members of The Shamrockers perform at the Elks Club in Polson on Saturday night during a benefit for Rev. John Payne. Payne was diagnosed with prostate cancer and is undergoing expensive treatment in Seattle. The event featured a gourmet spaghetti dinner, live music and a live and silent auction. All auction items were donated by community members. Pat West estimates the event raised more than $10,000.“I just walked in and burst into tears,” John’s wife, Sharon, said. “John felt awkward about it, but I said it’s what goes around, comes around.”
