Polson senior Nicole Davey needed 16 minutes to record a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Class AA Kalispell Flathead last Tuesday night. She finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds in the Pirate’s 56-35 win. Junior Sierra Pete added 12.

Polson went on to score double-digit points in all four quarters against Whitefish last Saturday. In the 67-30 win, 10 different players posted points. Junior Breanne Kelley led with 14 as freshman Heidi Rausch and sophomore Sarah Cannon added two each.

Kelley leads the conference with 36 steals in 11 games.

Polson travels to Hamilton tonight and hosts Stevensville on Saturday.

Polson boys basketball

The Pirates dropped a 72-46 contest to Class AA Kalispell Flathead last Tuesday. Polson was down by two at the half before Flathead posted 34 points in the fourth for the win.

Sophomore Tyler Krell led the Pirates’ scoring with 14 points and five rebounds and went four-for-six at the line. Junior Kyle Bagnell added 10 while sophomore Vince DiGiallonardo and senior Derrick Rathe each had five rebounds.

Polson went on to beat Whitefish 64-58. Down 27-22 at the half, Polson managed 18 points in the third and 24 in the fourth for the comeback.

Bagnell led with 25 points and DiGiallonardo added 11 and sophomore Cody Fisher had 10.

Bagnell and senior Tim Rausch lead the conference in total points, Bagnell with 181 in 11 games and Rausch with 152 in 10 games. DiGiallonardo is tied for ninth with 104 points in 11 games. The Pirates are currently second in the conference behind Columbia Falls.

Polson will host Hamilton on Friday.
