I hope that everyone is enjoying the summer and that you had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend.

Since the Fourth was on Sunday, the center was closed on Monday, and we had to reschedule our monthly business meeting. It will be held at 10 a.m. on July 12 and our annual meeting will be held that afternoon at 1 p.m.

Our evening meal this month is today and we will be serving chicken from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The Veterans Rep will be here from 1 to 3 p.m. this afternoon.

The senior commodities will be given out on July 20 and you can pick them up after 2 p.m. that afternoon. If you can help, please meet at the Pablo Christian Church at 10 a.m., or call the Council on Aging at 676-2367 if you need more information. Remember: “Many hands make light work”.

The monthly foot clinic will be held here from 10 a.m. to noon on July 21. No appointment is necessary.

Lorna Tougas has been selected as our Senior of the Year, and a dinner honoring her will be held at noon on July 21. Come and join us for a great BBQ chicken dinner and to offer Lorna your congratulations.

Menu: Thursday, July 8, chicken at 5 p.m.; Friday, July 9, chicken noodle soup; Monday, July 12, Polish sausage in sauerkraut; Wednesday, July 14, pork chops.

Come in and join us for some great food and fellowship.

We are still recycling aluminum cans as a fundraiser, and would like to thank all who have contributed to us. We also give our thanks to all who have donated fresh produce to the center. It is people like you who keep our programs for seniors going.

Come on in and join us for a game of bingo on Monday and Friday and the pool table is always ready for use. We also have a lot of books for you to borrow, and there is usually a puzzle waiting to be worked on.

Have a good week.
