The annual Saturday pancake breakfast at the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center during Good Old Days is a highlight of the celebration. Beginning at 7 a.m. on July 24, people from around the country will again gather in the center to renew acquaintances over a hearty breakfast including sugar free syrup for those who want it.

A memorial dinner honoring the lives of long-time center members, the late Katherine and Merle Miller, will be held at the center at noon on July 29. Those attending may bring a salad or dessert if they wish. Services and interment of ashes will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at 2 p.m.

For more information about the center and its activities and services, call 745-4462 or go on the internet to www.missionmontana.org.

With Linda Schoon: I hope that everyone had an enjoyable Fourth of July. Now that summer is finally here, it seems that everyone is busy and on the go constantly. Just make sure that you take the time to enjoy it.

The Ronan center will be hosting the weekly card game at 7 p.m on Monday, July 19. The foot clinic will be here at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21. You don't need an appointment for the clinic as it is on a "first come" basis.

This is the month that the senior commodities will be given out and they need lots of help. If you can help, meet at 10 a.m. on July 20 at the Pablo Christian Church on Clairmont Road.

The commodities can be picked up at the center after 2 p.m. that day. This is a program that has been going on for over ten years, and has helped out countless seniors around Lake County.

Each year the Senior Centers pick a Senior of the Year, and we will be having a dinner to honor Lorna Tougas on July 21. The dinner will be at noon and we will be serving BBQ chicken. Please join us if you can.

The COA is still providing rides for seniors, and is still in need of volunteer drivers. Give them a call at 676-2368 if you need a ride or can drive one of the cars for them.

We are also still collecting the aluminum cans for recycling.

We have received some very generous amounts of cans and would like to thank all who have donated.

The center serves meals at noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You do not have to be a senior to eat here. If you need a ride to the noon meal there is a bus available. Please call 676-2367 if you need a ride.

We also serve an evening meal on the second Thursday night of the month. This meal is also open to the public and we serve from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and we alternate between chicken and roast pork.

Have a good week, and come on in and join us and take a break from cooking in this heat.

We play Bingo on Mondays and Fridays after lunch, and the pool tables are always ready to be used.
