*The following district court proceedings took place July 21.

-State of Montana vs. James Adams; 51. The matter before the Court is change of plea. Defendant admits committing the offense of assault with a weapon, a felony, Count I in DC-10-69 and to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony in DC-10-70. The Court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the Defendant guilty of the charges. The Court grants the State’s motion to dismiss Count II in DC-10-69. PSI ordered. Attorney Caroline Riss asks to have an accelerated PSI so that this matter may be calendared sooner along with the matter in Judge Christopher’s Court. Sentencing is set for Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. and may be calendared sooner if the PSI is completed.

-State of Montana vs. Maureen Kay Hunter; 53. The matter before the Court is change of plea. Defendant admits committing the offense of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony, Count I. The Court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the Defendant guilty of the charge. The Court grants the State’s motion to dismiss Count II. PSI ordered. Sentencing is set for Sept. 1 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Brian Keith Viles; 46. The matter before the Court is change of plea. Defendant admits committing the offenses of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony, Count I; failure to carry proof of liability insurance, a misdemeanor, Count II; and driving while license is suspended or revoked, a misdemeanor, Count III. The Court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the Defendant guilty of the charges. PSI ordered. Sentencing is set for Sept. 1 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Cameron Asencio; 20. The matter before the Court is arraignment. Ready to enter plea, Defendant pleads not guilty to the charge of burglary, a felony, Count I. The plea is entered and the case will be set for trial. Defendant remains at liberty. This matter is set for omnibus hearing on Aug. 25 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Lorena Couture; 40. The matter before the Court is sentencing. The Court commits the Defendant to the DOC for six years with all suspended. All conditions in the pre-sentence report as amended by the Court are incorporated by reference.

-State of Montana vs. Nicole Hadley; 29. The matter before the Court is sentencing. The Court commits the Defendant to the DOC for five years on Count I with all suspended but 30 days and the Defendant has one year to complete, and sentences the Defendant on Count II to six months in the LCJ with all suspended but 10 days. The sentence imposed on Count II is to run concurrent to the sentence imposed on Count I. Defendant will have the same length of time to complete the sentence on Count II. All conditions as amended before the Court are incorporated by reference.

-State of Montana vs. Dusty Seyler; 22. The matter before the Court is sentencing. The Court defers imposition of sentence for five years. As conditions, the Defendant is ordered to serve 108 days in the LCJ. Defendant is to receive credit for 108 days served. All conditions in the pre-sentence report are incorporated by reference as amended by the parties for the record. The Court designates the Defendant as a Level I sex offender.

*The following district court proceedings took place July 22.

-State of Montana vs. Robert Browning; 47. The matter before the Court is revocation hearing. The Court finds the State provided sufficient evidence to support the petition and revokes the Defendant’s suspended sentence. Ready for sentencing. For the offense of burglary, a felony, the Court commits the Defendant to the DOC for five years with recommendation for Connections Corrections and pre-release. The Court would also recommend the Defendant for an early release if the Defendant successfully completes the treatment. Previous conditions are re-imposed.

-State of Montana vs. Harlan Vaska; 46. The matter before the Court is change of plea. Defendant admits committing the offense of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a felony. The Court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the Defendant guilty of the charges. PSI ordered. Sentencing is set for Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Bradley Stevens; 39. The matter before the Court is answer petition to revoke in DC-02-4 and for a change of plea in DC-10-16. Defendant admits committing the offense of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a felony, Count I, and criminal endangerment, a felony, Count II, in DC-10-16. The Court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the Defendant guilty of the charge. In DC-02-4, the Court finds the State provided sufficient evidence to support the petition and revokes the Defendant’s suspended sentence. PSI is ordered. Sentencing is set for Aug. 19 at 9 a.m.

*The following justice court proceedings took place July 16-22.

-Lytle, Tucker D.; 19. Fail/prevent escape of excessive fumes/smoke from motor vehicle. Fined $50.

-Freeman, Christopher W.; 44. Driving under the influence of alcohol - first offense. Fined $400 and 180 days in jail with 179 suspended. Completed July 20.

-Gray, Raymond M.; 38. Driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. Fined $250 and 180 days in jail with 178 suspended. Provide proof of valid driver’s license by Aug. 22 and jail waived.

-Lawson, Patrick D.; 37. Violation of motor carrier safety standards - first offense. Fined $50.

-Chowning, Chelsea L.; 15. Interfering with traffic while backing. Fined $50.

-Diesen, Harold R.; 64. Speeding - exceeding restricted speed limit established by local authority. Fined $50.

-Higgins, Emma E.; 78. Failure to give notice of accident by quickest means/apparent damage over $500. Fined $50.
