Businesswomen's

Network meeting

From 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 17 at the Lake County Community Development Corporation conference room in Ronan, the Missoula Businesswomen's Network is proud to announce the next meeting of the Mission Valley Sub-network. Guest speaker is Arlene Templer, Department Head of CSKT Department of Human Resources Development.

Green Party Gathering

The Montana Green Party will conduct its annual meeting at 9 a.m. June 19 at Boettcher Park in Polson.

Everyone is invited to join afterwards for a pot luck barbecue and gathering from noon to 8 p.m. to share information, music, picnic, play and relax on the shore of spectacular Flathead Lake.

Airplane Association air tour

The annual Montana Antique Airplane Association air tour will be stopping at the Polson Airport on the morning of June 19. The aircraft will be arriving about 9:30 a.m. and remain at the Polson Airport for about two hours.

There will be at least twenty vintage aircraft on the Montana air tour. Members of the public are welcome to see the planes and visit with their owners.

Figure drawing contest

Figure drawing is continuing throughout the summer at the Sandpiper Gallery in Polson.

Anyone interested in drawing the human figure may meet at the gallery's workroom, every other Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. A clothed model is provided. The next session is June 19. Please call Mary Kelley 849-6118 mskelley@centurytel.net for further information.

Signs of God's life

Vacation Bible school at the St. Ignatius Mission will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. from June 21-25. Registration is due by June 20, pick up forms at the church.

Baobob Blast

Mission Valley United Methodist Church is inviting pre-school through 5th grade children to our "Baobab Blast" Vacation Bible School June 21 to 23 at the church on Post Creek Hill. We will begin at 6:30 p.m. and go until 8:30 p.m.

Bud the Elephant, Sam the Meerkat and Jonathan the Giraffe will help us learn music, hear stories about God's people, make crafts, play games all while we learn about our powerful and loving God.

Come join us under the "Baobab Tree" for a great time of learning, caring and sharing!

The monthly meeting of Polson VFW 2986 and the Ladies Auxiliary will be at 7 p.m. on June 21 at VFW Hall 423 Main St. in Polson.

School transportation meeting

The Lake County School Transportation Committee will be meeting at 10 a.m. on June 22 in the third floor Land Services Conference Room of the Lake County Courthouse. Adjustments needed in bus routes will be discussed.

Grasshopper control assistance program meeting

USDA personnel have determined that grasshopper hatches are significantly contributing to economically damaging population levels for the 2010 growing season. To protect agriculture production, Lake County Commissioners have initiated steps to assist landowners in controlling grasshopper populations.

A public explanation meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on June 23 at the Lake County Community Center in Ronan. All Lake County landowners that are interested in an explanation of the reimbursement program should attend.

Montechato potluck

Everyone is welcome to come to the Montechato potluck at 6 p.m. on June 24 at the clubhouse at mile marker six on Highway 35 across from Ricciardi's. These potlucks will be held all summer on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. Bring your favorite dish and come for a social evening. It's a chance to visit with neighbors you may not have seen all winter and make some new friends.

Vacation Bible camp

A High Seas Expedition Vacation Bible Camp launches June 28 and docks July 2 at the United Methodist Church in Polson. Camp is open to all kids age five through 12 or those entering the sixth grade this fall.

Camp begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at noon each day and will follow the sea adventure theme. Camp is sponsored by four Polson churches: Episcopal, Good Shepherd Lutheran, Presbyterian and United Methodist and is free and open to all children.
