The Senior Babe Ruth Mission Valley Rockies were busy traveling to Clark Fork this weekend for a road victory. On the home front, the three all-star teams for Babe Ruth were named along with the coaching staffs.
Mission Valley Rockies defeat Clark Fork
CLARK FORK - Jeremiah Crawford pitched five innings, allowed only two runs and struck out three for the Mission Valley Rockies as they handled the Clark Fork Valley Cougars 5-4 on the road last weekend.
"We've really improved a ton," Rockies head coach Alan Anderson said. "Things are looking pretty bright in the future."
The Cougars had taken the 4-2 run in the top of the sixth but the Rockies answered back, scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Dylan Kelly had a base hit to drive in the tying and go-ahead run.
Garrett Herron was called to the mound for relief duties in the top of the seventh. He got the first batters to go down with a ground out and a pop up, then struck out the final batter to ice the victory for the Rockies.
"It is good, we have a couple big tournaments coming up," Anderson said. "It's a good warmup."
With the end of the season looming in the future, the Rockies will head to Pioneer Days this weekend in Missoula.
Babe Ruth All-Star Teams Named
The rosters have been set for the Babe Ruth All-Star teams that will represent Mission Valley in the upcoming weeks as the very best players in Babe Ruth for their respective age groups. Three teams were organized to meet the certian age groups.
