Montechato potluck
Everyone is welcome to come to the Montechato potluck at 6 p.m. on June 24 at the clubhouse at mile marker six on Highway 35 across from Ricciardi’s. These potlucks will be held all summer on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. Bring your favorite dish and come for a social evening. It’s a chance to visit with neighbors you may not have seen all winter, and make some new friends.
Community dinner
Fellowship Baptist Church cordially invites all members of our community to a free community dinner from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on June 24 at Fellowship Baptist Church. A selection of Italian favorites as well as homemade desserts will be served. Please join us for good food and fellowship at our church located on the corner of Main and Seventh Ave across the street from the HCP building.

Rodeo parade
A rodeo and children’s pet parade will be held at 11 a.m. on June 25 along Main St. in Polson. The parade will feature Charlie Russell Riders and Polson’s kids and their pets.
PRCA rodeo
The 7th Annual Mission Mountain PRCA Rodeo will be held at the Polson Fairgrounds Arena on Friday June 25 and Sat. June 26. The action begins at 7 p.m. with youth events, Mutton Bustin’ and Mini Bull Riding. The exciting Pro Rodeo starts at 8 p.m. Many sponsors are needed to produce this rodeo and there are several options available. Please call Una Rose Graham at 883-1100 for more information.
Lake County
Pachyderm Club
Bob Fulton, a member of the City-County Planning Board, will be the guest speaker of the Lake County Pachyderm Club on Friday, June 25. His topic is medical marijuana and zoning. This is currently a “front burner” issue in Lake County and Polson, and anyone interested is cordially invited to attend the meeting which will be held at the Fairgrounds Station of the Polson Rural Fire Department located on Airport Road.
The meeting begins at 12:05 and adjourns at 1 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch and come at 11:30 a.m. for some social time.
The Pachyderm Club’s educational programs are centered around government, politics, and current issues. The group will be meeting once a month in June, July, and August on the last Friday of the month.
Dixon senior dance
The next monthly Dixon senior dance will be at 6 p.m. on June 25. Come and enjoy the varied tunes to dance to or just enjoy listening.

Big Arm fire station hamburger fry
The Big Arm fire station will be hosting its annual hamburger fry from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on July 26 at the fire station. Please come support your local firefighters at the Big Arm Station.

Paint out
From novice to professional, more than 30 artists from throughout Montana will show up Thursday morning at the Sandpiper Gallery. They will be participating in the “Reservation Views Paint Out”, a four-day painting event in which each artist captures on paper or canvas, images from their choice of Flathead Reservation locations. On Sunday the artists will deliver to the Sandpiper Gallery their completed works of art for the “Reservation Views Exhibition.” The public is invited to stop and observe artists they see out painting over the weekend and are encouraged to visit the “Reservation View Exhibition” at the gallery beginning June 29 through July 9.
Visitors to the gallery will have the opportunity to view all of the works, purchase art and vote on for the “People’s Choice Award” and are also encouraged to attend the closing reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 9 during which the additional awards will be announced.

Young designers’
fashion show
Who said fundraisers have to be boring? SKC Upward Bound and GEAR UP, in conjunction with the Coalition for Kids, are sponsoring a community fashion show and fundraiser for Project Giveback, and this will be a showstopper.
This event is sure to be the highlight of the summer, so get there early to get a good seat. The fashion show will be at 6 p.m. on June 30 in the Michel Building on the SKC campus.
The price of admission is a few cans of food for the Bread Basket in Ronan, or a small donation to the GEAR UP Scholarship Fund. For more information, contact the Upward Bound/GEAR UP office at 275-4990.

Polson Library events
Polson City Library’s annual Family Summer Reading Program invites participants of all ages to stop in and sign up for this popular summer-long event. This year’s theme is “Make a Splash – Read!” and theme-related prizes and reading incentives will be offered.
Anyone who reads, or is read to, is eligible to participate. Readers can register at Polson City Library during regular hours any time from June 14 through July 31.
Thursday morning programs will also be presented for school-aged children.
All Thursday programs will be at 10:00 a.m. at the library or an announced location. They will run through Aug. 12, which is the date of the fun-filled annual Bug Race.
The library will be an exciting place on Friday afternoons. “Friday Flicks” and Friday “Game Days” will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 in the library meeting room. Anyone is welcome.
During Friday Flicks, kids will be able to relax with popular movies, refreshing blasts of air conditioning, and snacks. On alternating weeks, Game Days will allow kids to have fun playing Wii, board games, and more.

Making Fitness Fun
Starting June 7, there will be a free youth program at Joe McDonald Fitness gym and will last until August 27. There is a possibility of free breakfast, from 9 -9:30 a.m. and lunch, from 11 a.m. to noon.
Supervision will be provided at Joe McDonald Fitness gym for youth ages 7 and older for various activities. Stop in anytime, all summer long. Transportation will be provided to Ronan Boys and Girls Club at noon.
Making Fitness Fun is designed to incorporate young kids in summer activities that are fun but used to improve their fitness levels. Its designed to keep kids busy and active during the summer.

Monday night meals

Veterans affairs
division
On the second Thursday of every month, Andrea Montee, Service Officer for the Montana Veterans Affiars Division in Missoula, will be available to veterans and their dependents that have questions or need to file a claim with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. She will be in Polson from 10 a.m. to noon at the Polson senior citizens center and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Ronan at the Ronan senior citizens center. For more information, call 460-542-2501.
Soup’s On
“Soups On” serves a free meal from 11 a.m. to 2, Monday through Thursday. Our doors are open to everyone.
