HELENA - The 12U Ronan Orange and Black Attack rattled off two victories in the Capital City Classic to place sixth in the tournament last weekend. It was a match up of Lake County to start off the tournament by the Polson Purple Wave who came out on top with the 5-0 victory. Then they racked up a 15-1 victory over the Helena Titans. Raptors get tie

HELENA - The 16U Ronan Raptors tied the Missoula Madness in pool play during the Capital City Class but suffered three other setbacks during the weekend.

They ended up getting knocked out of the tournament in the elimination round by the team they tied, the Montana Madness.

Purple Rain falls in

elimination round

HELENA - The 16U Purple Rain had a hot start in the Capital City Classic, winning their first three games of pool play.

The Purple Rain defeated Havre 10-1, Bozeman 10-3 and the Flathead Monsters 8-2 in pool play.

Ashley Johnson had a good tournament, going 8-for-13 in the three spot of the lineup. Kinley Pope went 6-for-11.

They drew the Flathead Monsters in the elimination part of the tournament and surprisingly lost 8-5 to end the weekend.

Polson fell behind early and even though they mounted a comeback, it was too little, too late.

Four errors also didn't help their cause.

The Purple Rain was playing without Riley Kenny, who was hurt in the last tournament but is expected to be back for next weekend.

Polson will head to the Emeralds Tournament this next weekend in Kalispell.
