*The following district court proceedings took place May 12.

-State of Montana vs. Ethan Lyn Maughn; 20. The matter before the Court is arraignment. Ready to enter plea, Defendant pleads not guilty to the charge of theft, a felony, Count I and obscuring identity of machine, a misdemeanor, Count II. The plea is entered and the case will be set for trial. The Court sets this matter for omnibus hearing on Jun 16 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Kevin McPherson; 45. The matter before the Court is change of plea. Defendant admits committing the offense of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a felony, Count I, and failure to carry proof of liability insurance, a misdemeanor, Count II. The Court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the Defendant guilty of the charge. PSI ordered. Sentencing is set for June 16 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Kevin McPherson; 45. The matter before the Court is change of plea. Defendant admits committing the offense of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a felony, Count I, driving while license is suspended or revoked, Count II, a misdemeanor, and failure to carry proof of liability insurance, a misdemeanor, Count III. The Court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the defendant guilty of the charge. PSI ordered. Sentencing is set for July 20 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Marilyn R. Adams; 55. The matter before the Court is sentencing. PSI has been received and reviewed. For the offense of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a felony, the Court commits the Defendant to the DOC for a tern of 10 years as a persistent felony offender, with five years suspended. The sentence imposed in this cause shall run consecutive to DC-07-227.

-State of Montana vs. Duane Matt; 49. The matter before the Court is change of plea. Defendant admits committing the offense of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a felony. The Court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the Defendant guilty of the charge. PSI ordered. Sentencing is set for June 23 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Cheryl Marie Matt; 40. The matter before the Court is change of plea. Defendant admits committing the offense of assault on a peace officer, a felony. The Court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the Defendant guilty of the charge. PSI ordered. Sentencing is set for June 2 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Lavonda Curley; 36. The matter before the Court is answer petition to revoke. Attorney Ben Anciaux indicates that the Defendant will be making some admissions. The Court finds the State provided sufficient evidence to support the petition and revokes the Defendants' suspended sentence. Ready for sentencing. For the offense of forgery, a felony, the Court commits the Defendant to the DOC for three years to run consecutive to DC-04-123 and would recommend the Defendant be considered for placement at the Elkhorn Treatment Center followed by pre-release and ISP. Previous conditions are re-imposed.

*The following justice court proceedings took place May 7-13.

-Albrecht, Daniel L.; 37. Criminal mischief - misdemeanor. Fined $200 and 180 days in jail with 179 suspended.

-Schoonover, Naomi; 42. Driving without a valid driver's license - expired less than 180 days. Fined $50.

-Sherlock, Porsche J.; 20. Operating without liability insurance in effect - second offense. Fined $350 and 10 days in jail with eight days suspended. Provide proof of six months continuous insurance and jail waived.

-Chrsitiansen, Joshua R.; 19. Possessing intoxicating substances while under the age of 21 (over age 18) - second offense. Fined $200.

-Arlet, Mary H.; 46. Fail to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle - first offense. Fined $150.

-Winkler, John A.; 33. Arrested on site for eluding a peace officer, a violation; criminal endangerment, a felony; and speeding, a misdemeanor.

-Steele, John; 18. Arrested on site for possession of dangerous drugs, a felony.

-Smith, Jay; 22. Arrested on site for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor; and obstructing a peace officer, a misdemeanor.

-Moore, George M.; 55. Arrested on site for DUI alcohol or drugs, a felony.

-Futrell, Misty D.; 19. Arrested on site for partner or family member assault, non aggravated, a misdemeanor.

-Burke, Lacey M.; 22. Arrested on site for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; possession of dangerous drugs, a felony; and probation violation, a felony.
