Jazmine Hould and Kenya Anderson take their turn promoting the Honor Pass car wash last Saturday in the Tru Value parking lot.

RONAN - As a reward for making the honor roll, Ronan seventh and eighth graders get to hold a car wash.

The fundraiser is for the trips they will take this week.

After all that studying and hours working on homework, it will have paid off.

This year, the eighth graders will head to Yellowstone while the seventh graders will head to Phillipsburg and surrounding areas.

To make the Honor Pass, a student has to have a 3.50 GPA for at least three of the four quarters during the school year. Each student also has to perform eight hours of community service.

Twenty-six students qualified for the eighth grade trip, advisor Tom Anderson said. The group will travel for three days and two nights.

"The trip is also a learning experience for the students attending the trip," Anderson said.

The group will visit Old Faithful and left on Monday.

The seventh graders will explore the sapphire mines in Phillipsburg.
