Senior news, Sept. 30
Ronan senior news
We trust that Linda and Moe had a great trip to Colorado. We'll be very glad to have them back with us.
It's been a busy week at the center. Last week, the COA and our center had a yard sale and are so thankful for all who donated items and also for all the buyers. Without all of you it wouldn't have been a success. The weather was good, too.
Last Monday the card players, 28 of them, got together to enjoy an evening of fun, food and fellowship. The winners were high score, Don Siers, low score, Ray Salomon, door prize, Todd Myhre, and most pinochles, Esther Bick.
Lunch was provided by Carrie and Narlys. Next card party is Oct. 18.
Schedule: Saturday, Oct. 2, Pancake breakfast at VFW; Monday, Oct. 4, board meeting at 10 a.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 6, chicken dinner; Friday, Oct. 8, salmon loaf; Monday, Oct. 11, barbecue beef ribs; Tuesday, Oct. 12, COA board meeting at 10 a.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 13, mac ‘n cheese; Thursday, Oct. 14, pork roast dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 15, flu shots from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Our sympathy goes out to the Clark Joy family at this time. Clark attended our center whenever he could and loved to play pool and cards.
Remember, we play bingo after lunch on Mondays and Fridays. We had a great group here last week with 92 people attending.
Now that it's getting cooler, the pool tables will be in use. Come and join the fellows.

Commodities were distributed at the center on Sept. 22. Applications are at the Arlee Senior Center. If you think you may qualify for free food every two months, the next distribution will be in November, stop by the center on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays at noon and pick up an application. Approvals are based on income level.
The next fundraiser for the center will be a silent auction held from Oct. 9 to Oct. 23 at the center. Come in and bid on items or donate your unwanted new or gently used items.

With Cathy Corrigan: Thank you for all of the garden goodies that we have received. They are always appreciated. Also, thanks to all the people who have renewed their memberships to the center. It helps to keep our doors open for all to use the center.
We are looking for painting contractors to paint the out side of our center. If interested, give us a call here at 883-4735.
