Sixth Annual Noble/Bailey Reunion

It is that time again for the Noble/Bailey Family reunion. We are going back to our roots this year and gathering at the Valley View Clubhouse starting Friday late afternoon/evening, Sept. 3.

Bring your campers and tents and plan to spend the weekend. Don't forget the pictures and stories to share too. We plan on serving breakfast Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. Saturday night, Rick is heading up the barbecue and Sunday will be potluck as usual.

Jocko Valley Trails Committee meeting

The Jocko Valley Trails Committee of the Arlee Community Development Corp. will be starting up its fall monthly meeting schedule with the next meeting being held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 4 at the Hangin' Art Gallery in Arlee. There will be a general discussion of the summer's trails planning activities, reports on recent meetings with various officials, both Tribal and State, and a discussion of future directions. Anyone having an interest in trails planning and development in the Arlee Valley is encouraged to attend. For further information, call 726-4149 evenings.

MVBCH meeting

The September meeting of the Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at the VFW Hall on Round Butte Rd., in Ronan. A review of the summer's projects will be given.

Hunter registration

Registration for the Polson Hunter Education course is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Polson Middle School Cafeteria. Classes run 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. from Sept. 14-17. The test is scheduled for the last hour at the Sept. 17 class. The field course is scheduled for Sept. 18.

Planning meeting

There will be a planning meeting from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 7 at the Polson Library regarding the $9.5 million available for grants from the Montana Mental Health Settlement Trust. All interested agencies and individuals are invited.

Mystic Chapter meeting

The first meeting of Mystic Chapter No. 53 Order of Eastern Star for the 2010-11 year will be at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 at the Masonic Lodge in Polson.

Ms. Fay Addington, Worthy Matron, Worthy Patron and Douglas Stam will be the presiding officers for the coming year and urge all Eastern Star members to attend. Meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month. For more information, contact Barbara at 676-8146.

Mission Mountain

Quilt Guild

The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold its first meeting of the "new year" at 7 p.m. on Sept. 7 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, at 35663 Terrace Lake Rd. in Ronan.

Please bring the final block of the month for September from last year's packets. We will be doing challenge quilts this year, using fabric to be handed out at this meeting. Carl Rohr is in charge of education - expect some fun and educational meetings this year!

The theme for the 2011 Quilt Show is "Barnyard dance at the County Fair" so be thinking of what kind of a quilt you can make for next summer's show! There will be changes made this year. Please come and have a good time, everyone is welcome!

Wednesday, Sept. 8

NARFE meeting

Chapter 1744 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at noon on Sept. 8 at the Ronan Senior Center. Lunch will be Polish sausage with sauerkraut.

Following lunch, there will be a brief business meeting.

Soup's On

"Soups On" serves a free meal from 11 a.m. to 2, Monday through Thursday.

The Wander Inn is located at Journey Be, 101 7th Ave. West in Polson, just across from Dempsey's.

A free community dinner is served every fourth Friday of the month at the Wander Inn from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. On the first Friday, the meal is hosted at the Catholic Church. Look to the Presbyterian Church to have a meal on the second Friday of the month, and on the third Friday, the United Methodist Church offers a fine spread. Enjoy dining out four Fridays a month by attending these free community dinners.
