Citizens Acting for Liberty

Pachyderm club

meeting

John Sinrud, Government Affairs Director for the Northwest Montana Association of Realtors, will be guest speaker at the Sept. 10 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club. His topic will be Constitutional Initiative 105 which, if approved in the November election, would ban Real Estate Transfer Taxes once and for all.

The Lake County Pachyderm Club meets in the Community Room of the Polson City Library beginning with social time at 11:30 a.m.  Attendees are invited to bring a brown bag lunch and a friend. The meeting begins at noon and adjourns at 1 p.m.

Masumola club meeting

The Masumola Club meeting will be held Sept. 9 at the clubhouse. The social gathering begins at 5:45 p.m., potluck at 6:30 p.m. and program at 7 p.m. The program will feature Chris McGuinness who will discuss the impact the new fire station on west shore properties.

MDT meeting

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), in partnership with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT), Lake County and the City of Polson, is holding the first public meeting on the U.S. 93 Polson Corridor Study and Polson Area Transportation Plan. The meeting will be held on Sept. 9 at the Polson City Library. An open house will take place from 4 to 6 p.m., with a formal presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 11

Polson fly-in

Chapter 1122 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will be hosting a Fly-in at the Polson Airport on Sept. 11 and admission is free. For additional information, call Mauri Morin at 249 2250

Peace festival

From 1 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 11, Ewam Montana will host the 6th Annual Peace Festival at its Garden of 1,000 Buddhas site just north of Arlee, presented in partnership with the Arlee Community Development Corporation and Salish Kootenai College’s HeartLines Tribal History Project.

Dayton Daze

The Chief Cliff Fire Service Area is sponsoring its 19th Annual Dayton Daze celebration at the Idle Spur Saloon on Sept. 11. Activities start at 10 a.m.

Doggy dash

The Mission Valley Animal Shelter has announced that its 2010 Doggy Dash will be held this year on Sept. 11 at the Travis Dolphin Dog Park in Polson, rain or shine.

The Doggy Dash kicks off with registration at 8:30 a.m., with the walk starting at 9 a.m. Registration may be obtained at Seconds 2 Go in Polson, at Wright Real Estate in Ronan or by calling the Shelter at 883-5312.

Paint Out

The Sandpiper Gallery Group will be painting in the World Wide Paint Out on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. at Riverside Park by the boat launch on the southeast end of the Polson Memorial Bridge.

Sunday, Sept. 12

Presbyterian classes

Polson Presbyterians invite all to come and learn about Jesus Christ. Programs begin on Sept. 12 and include  a wide variety of ages. Please come and Worship with us at 11 a.m. each Sunday.

Lake County Republican Women’s Club

Diane Barz, the first woman to serve on the Montana Supreme Court and the first woman elected as a District Judge, will be the featured speaker at the Lake County Republican Women’s Club (LCRW) meeting to be held Sept. 13 at Maxwell’s on Main restaurant. Social  time begins at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting begins at noon.

The Lake County Pizza and Pachyderm Politics Club is a youth group for ages 12 to 19 sponsored by the Lake County Republican Women’s Club. MMA program canceled

The Mission Mountain Audubon program scheduled for Sept. 14 has been canceled.

Arlee CDC meeting

Please join us for our first ever baby story time at 3:00 p.m. Sept. 15 in the children’s section of Ronan City Library. Parents and their babies, up to age three, are welcome to join us on the third Wednesday of every month to listen to stories and learn about books and reading with children. Rangers and M’Pact Girls

New Life Christian Center is starting their fall programs for girls and boys three-years-old through sixth grade. They will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday, starting Sept. 15. St. Joseph’s free Back Country first aid seminar will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the Polson St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Dr. Michael Righetti, M.D., Orthopedic Surgeon, and back country horseman will tell you what to bring, how to make a cast, splinting, general first aid and much more.
