Ronan PD investigating suspicious activity around Ronan schools

Over the past two weeks the Ronan Police Department has been investigating two separate and unrelated incidents of suspicious activity related to possible child abductions around Ronan Schools. At this time both cases appear to legitimate contacts and not an attempt to abduct any children.

The rumor mill has been hard at work exaggerating the events in both cases and causing unneeded worry and concern for parents, school officials and the police as well as others in the community. At this time we have absolutely no evidence or indications that either incident was in fact an attempted abduction, but rather were more likely innocent contacts that simply got out of hand.

All reports of this nature concern us deeply and cause us to look hard at the information to determine the validity of what happened. The safety of our children is one of our highest priorities and we do not take it lightly. Therefore, we do encourage everyone to be aware of your surroundings and please report suspicious behavior.
