We would like to thank the radish lady who brought in a beautiful bag of cleaned radishes. We really appreciate it and look forward to using them. Many thanks again!

The toenail clinic will be here at the center on Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. No appointment is necessary; first come first served. Any questions, call us here at 883-4735.

We would like to thank Jim and Deanne Corbett for the beautiful bouquets of roses from their garden. They are absolutely gorgeous and smell good too. We look forward to a few more. Hint, hint.

Dave is back from vacation looking well rested, so we would like to thank Paul, Harvey and Kaye for filling in for him and doing a great job. It’s volunteers like you that make it possible for us to do the things we do here. We really appreciate you!

Now, for some card scores. Bridge scores for July 22nd had Dean Greiner first and Marilyn Greiner second and for July 26th Dean Greiner was first and Win Baer was second. Nice playing Dean, two weeks in a row! Pinochle scores for July 28 were Bill Elliott first and Pete Daniels second.

Luncheon menu: Thursday 8/4 baked chicken; Friday 8/5 cheese burgers; Monday 8/8 sausage gravy and biscuits; Tuesday 8/9 baked ham; Wednesday 8/10 barbecue sandwich.

Can you believe that it is August already? It is to bad that the warm weather months seem to fly by so much faster than the cold weather months do.

The Council on Aging is in need of volunteer drivers for the Med-cars. They supply the cars and the gas, and all you need is the time and the desire to help someone. This is a service that is greatly needed for our seniors in Lake County, and most of the rides are local, or else to either Missoula or Kalispell. So ladies, if you husband is underfoot all of the time, call the COA (676-2368), and ask them about their great idea for getting him out of the house for awhile. They will appreciate his volunteering, and so will you.

Oops! I goofed. When I thanked the ladies in the COA office for all of their hard work on the flower beds, I left someone out. So, “brother Larry,” thanks for all of your hard work in shoveling gravel. I know that the girls appreciated your help. They also had a couple of teenage boys, and they have our thanks as well.

Our next evening meal will be on Thursday, the 11th, from 5 until 6:30, and we will be serving roast pork. The veterans rep. will also be here on Aug. 11, from 1 until 3 p.m. No appointment is necessary. The next card party here at the center will be on Monday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m.

Our menu for the up-combing week is: Wed. (3rd) is swiss steak, Wed. (5th) is hamburgers, Mon. (8th) is lasagna, Wed. (10th) is sloppy Joes, Thurs. (11th) is pork roast at 5 p.m., and Fri. (12th) is salmon loaf.

We play bingo on Mondays and Fridays after lunch, so come on in and join us for a great meal, and join in the games afterwards.

Have a great week, and make sure that you get out and enjoy the warm weather, cause it won’t last much longer.
