ROLLINS — Representative Janna Taylor announced in November that she is running for the Montana Senate District 6 seat.

Taylor has consistently voted for tax and spending cuts, to defend property rights and to strengthen families. In recognition of her outstanding leadership abilities, she was elected by her peers to be the Speaker Pro Tempore of the Montana House of Representatives.

“Jobs creation has always been my focus as an entrepreneur in our family business and as a legislator. It is imperative in this economic environment that state and federal government get out of the way,” Taylor said.

She received a 100 percent rating and Champion of Business award from the Montana Chamber of Commerce.

“In the Senate, I’ll continue to vote for tax and spending cuts, to defend property rights and to strengthen families,” Taylor said. “It has been an honor to work for the citizens of House District 11 and now I can expand that work to Senate District 6.”

Taylor is a strong advocate for family values and received a rating of 100 percent from the Montana Family Foundation. Their evaluations can be found at www.montanafamily.org. Taylor and her family located to the Proctor Valley in 1981 and later moved to Rollins. She and her husband, Mike, have two sons and three grandchildren.

Taylor has been a member of many committees during her time in the House. She served on the House Appropriations Committee, chaired the general government sub-committee and vice-chaired House Taxation. She also has been a member of the agriculture, transportation, interim finance and audit committees.
