BASKETBALL: Dupuis comes up big

The Ronan Chiefs started the season in dramatic fashion, with

Edmond Dupuis coming up with a steal and score to clinch the 55-54

victory on Friday at the Tipoff Tournament in Columbia Falls and

Whitefish.

The Chiefs, facing their old Northwestern A divisional foe in

Libby, picked up their first win as a Class B team thanks to a

balanced attack. Dupuis led the team with 13 points and Brady

Oakland had 13. Marcus Hungerford had nine.

Ronan held the 22-19 advantage at halftime, but fell behind 41-39 after three quarters. The Chiefs were able to outscore Libby 16-13 in the final stanza.
