A two-car collision at the intersection of Hwy. 93 and Hwy. 35 sent one woman to the hospital with minor injuries Wednesday afternoon in Polson.

The 56-year-old woman was driving a white Pontiac south on Hwy. 93 when she hit a white BMW SUV in the turn lane around 2 p.m. The driver of the SUV, a 65-year-old male, is OK after the accident.

An eyewitness to the accident, Melissa Peel, said she was travelling behind the woman when she began swerving just after the Town Pump gas station. Peel estimated the woman was driving around 35 m.p.h. when she hit the SUV.

"Before she hit, she was swerving all over the place," Peel said. "I saw it coming from a ways away."

Polson civilian assistant Hazeez Rafiu said that the woman was extricated from the vehicle before being transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center. Despite the snow, Rafiu doesn't believe weather was a factor, as the roads were clear at the time of the accident.
