EUREKA - Arlee Warrior wrestlers continued to progress and make strides while still not being 100 percent when they took fourth place of 10 teams at last weekend's Buzz Lucey Memorial Tournament at Eureka.

With Clayton Trimble out with a hand injury, the Warriors still nearly finished in third, just falling short of Libby's 117 points. Arlee ended with 112.5, behind Columbia Falls (180), Eureka (133) and Libby.

Six of eight Warrior wrestlers medaled in Eureka, including a first-place finish for Cameron Dominick at the 135-pound weight class. His 8-2 decision victory over a Columbia Falls opponent brought home the gold.

"Dominick wrestled extremely well, and probably the best I have ever seen him on the mat," Arlee wrestling coach Ken Hill said in an e-mail. "He was nursing an injured knee from the wrestling on Friday evening in Eureka and surely didn't want anyone grabbing his leg, so came out in perfect form for the entire tournament."

Arlee had a trio of second-place finishers, including Cody North at 215, Austin Rubel at 140 and Leif Rova at 160.

"Rova has been improving each time he steps on the mat as all the Warriors wrestlers have been," Hill said in the e-mail. "He is getting tougher and tougher with each competition."

Albert Plant took third place in the 171-pound weight class and Daniel Dunlop took fourth at 112 after winning three of five matches in the tournament.

"Al is deceptively talented on the mat and his technique keeps improving," Hill said in the e-mail.

On Thursday, Arlee will host a home dual at 6 p.m. and hope to have Trimble back from his injury.
