Ronan

Sorry if this column wasn’t in the paper for the past two weeks. The first week I was on vacation, and the second week I was still on vacation mentally and didn’t meet the deadline.

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a great New Year. From what has been in the news, we could certainly use some improvements in 2102.

There were 17 people at cards on the 19th, and it was potluck. High scores went to Grace Ingraham and Todd Myhre. Low scores went to Darlene Salomon and Del Palmer, the most pinochles went to Carrie Faulkner and Knight Weber, and the door prize went to Martha Allen. With a little help from Joyce Seirs, Bob Cook had a hand of 1,000 aces. Way to go, guys. The next card party at the Ronan Senior Center will be on Monday, Jan. 16 at 1:30 p.m.

We will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, so our board meeting has been moved to Monday, Jan 9 at 10 a.m. If you are a board member or an alternate, you need to be at the meeting.

Our evening meal will be on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 5 p.m., and we will be serving a great chicken dinner. The veteran’s rep will also be here that day, from 1 until 3 in the afternoon.

The next foot clinic will be on Wednesday, Jan. 18 from 10 until noon. Please call (676-2371) and get your name on the list, as there are only 10 time slots available.

Our menu for the following week: Wednesday (28th) is salmon loaf, Friday (30th) is roast beef for our birthday dinner, Monday (2nd) we are closed, Wednesday (4th) is soup and sandwiches and Friday (6th) is tater tot casserole.

Come on in and join us for a great meal and to visit with your friends. If we have enough players, we play bingo after lunch on Mondays and Fridays and the pool players are always looking for someone to beat them.

Have a great week and enjoy the weather. (You might as well, because it’s going to be like this whether you enjoy it or not.)

Polson

Just a friendly reminder that we will be closing after lunch on Dec. 30 and will be closed, Monday, Jan. 2. We will be back open on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

We would like to take this time to thank all of you who have donated your time, given a monetary donation or donated to our Nutrition Program this past year. We couldn’t have done it without your support. May your blessings come back to you two-fold.

I hope you all have a very Happy New Year and that all of your dreams come true this year. So, until we talk again, stay warm and be safe!

The scores for the Tuesday Afternoon Bowling are High Games-No Handicap Keith Ross 278, Cindy Lawin 221, Jesse Barry 210, Anita Swope 207, Ray Theiler 207 and Don Young 205. High Series-No Handicap had Keith Ross 747.
