Lake County wrestlers headed to Tournament of Champions in Great Falls
State Champions Toby Cheff and Cole Mcarthur, from Ronan, as well as Arlee's Cole Rice were selected to wrestle in the 3rd Annual Tournament of Champions in Great Falls next week.
Polson High School standouts Craig Feistner and Josiah Clairmont have also been selected to compete.
The personal injury law firm of Hoyt and Blewett PLLC in Great Falls is sponsoring the third annual "Tournament of Champions."
The one-day, single elimination all-star wrestling tournament will take place in Great Falls this Saturday, Feb. 19.
The tournament will include the three state champions from AA, A and B/C, plus an additional wild-card entry.
With the AA, A and B/C state wrestling tournaments being held in separate locations this year, for the first time in 18 years, the TOC will provide the only stage for wrestling fans to watch the top wrestlers in all classes.
Last year's event drew 52 wrestlers, including 28 state champions from Classes AA, A and B/C.
"We had a record number of state champions show up last year and we expect even more to attend this year," Zander Blewett said.
The semifinals will be held Saturday morning at Great Falls High School old gym at 10 a.m., followed by the championships at noon. Weigh-ins will be held Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and all wrestlers will be given a five pound weight allowance over that required at the state tournament.
