I received a letter from the Veterans Affairs Division out of Missoula and they have cancelled again. I’m hoping that they will get their problems solved and we’ll have a representative here in April. I will let you all know if and when I receive any information regarding April.

We took a few days last week and went to visit family in Washington. It was so nice to see green grass and flowers blooming again. I’d almost forgotten what they looked like. Hopefully, our own weather will start to improve. It’s always nice to get away, but nicer to come home.
There were 24 people at the card party on March 7. High score went to Todd Myrhe, Low score to Peg Johnson and Ted decker had the most pinochles. The door prize was won by Bob Watson, and Marie Cowen provided the lunch.
The next card party held at the Ronan center will be on Mon., March 21 at 2 p.m. Thanks to Betty Corum for the March table arrangements. Betty changes the arrangements with each holiday, or season, and she always does a terrific job on them.
We would like to extend our sympathy to the family of Dorothy Spang. Dorothy was a long time member of the center, and we will miss her.
On Saturday, March 26 the Council on Aging will be having a spaghetti dinner, from 5 to 7 p.m. The proceeds from this dinner will go toward the Senior Aging Services program in Lake County.
The dinner will be held here at the center. Please plan on supporting the COA with this fundraiser, as seniors all over Lake County will benefit from the funds raised.

Well, more signs of spring are showing and it’s less than a week until it’s official. There are birds checking out bird houses, some with twigs in their beaks. Flies are awake and soaking up sun on the walls, and a primrose which wintered over is barely showing some color as it pushes up through the muck! And, Daylight Savings Time is in place by now.
The fish fry dinner was well attended by friends from all over the valleys. We certainly appreciate, and enjoy the support of all who came and for those who helped in any other way! Thanks, too, to Marie Ardis for managing the Bingo activity which followed the meal. There was a good turnout from St. Ignatius, taking a large share of the winnings with them!
Pinochle players have stayed active during the winter. The last scores from Dixon are Peggy Johnson with the high score, and Jerry Holter came in low. Grace Ingrahm had the most pinochles, and the door prize went to Esther Bick. No dance will be held this month. Stay tuned for April!
Our cook and helpers served a yummy turkey dinner last week. Many take-outs were also enjoyed later. Meals are served on Mondays at 5 p.m. and on Thursdays at noon. Menus coming up will be: March 17 (Thursday) St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage — of course! March 21 (Monday) potato soup, March 23 (Thursday) tater tot casserole, March 28 (Monday) chicken enchiladas.
