On August 30, 1945, she married Holmes A. Bucher and to this union three sons were born. Holmes died in May of 1976. On Dec. 12, 1977, Jane married the second love of her life, James F. Grotts of Big Arm. She was a charter member of the Polson Community Church, Order of Eastern Star, Daughter of the Nile and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband, Holmes.

Jane is survived by her husband James at the family home in Polson and her sons, Wayne (Rena) Bucher of Billings, Douglas, (Jana) of Post Falls, Idaho; William (Penny) Bucher of Missoula; her stepchildren, Annette Young of Boise, Idaho; Don (Meg) of Durango, Colo. and James E. Grotts of Spokane, Wash. and her brother, Claude (Peggy) Hinkle of Virginia Beach, Va. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and numerous cousins.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she took great and loving care of everyone and delighted in spoiling us. Getting her three sons together was always a highlight. She was a fantastic cook and made wonderful pies including lemon meringue, rhubarb and mud pie. She loved music, roses, home grown vegetables, wildlife, mountains and Flathead Lake. She also took great joy in playing Mexican Train Dominoes. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service celebrating Jane’s life was held on Friday, March 18 at 2 p.m. at Polson Community Church. A light lunch in the fellowship hall will follow the services. Everyone is encouraged to share personal stories.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Polson Community Church or to a charity of one’s own choosing.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Village Health Care Center, Sub Acute 800 Wing, for their loving compassionate care of our wife and mother Jane.
