Raise funds for MVA
A Mission Valley Aquatics garage sale will take place Friday, May 20, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday, May 21 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at 808 11th Ave. E., Polson. MVA will continue to accept items for the garage sale throughout the week; they can be dropped off at 811 11th Ave E. Anyone who’d like to help with sorting and pricing, or for more information, please call 883-4567.
Free concert
Grammy nominated and Nammy Award winning RainSong Is coming to the Mission Valley Sunday, May 22 at 6 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Tribal Fitness Center on Mountain View Dr. in St. Ignatius. Light refreshments and fry bread will be served after the concert. A blanket love offering for RainSong will be received during the concert. For questions please call Jan Morgan at 406-745-0174.
Ronan baccalaureate
The Ronan baccalaureate will be on Sunday, May 22 at 2 p.m. at the Ronan Performing Arts Center. Everyone is welcome.
Historical society
The Flathead Reservation Area Historical Society will meet at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 24 in the conference room of the Lake County Courthouse in Polson to contract publication of Volume II of our Lake County School History book. Author visit
On May 24 at 7 p.m., award winning Montana Author Ruth McLaughlin will speak at the North Lake County Library in Polson. She will be reading a selection from her book, Bound Like Grass, which received the 2011 Montana Book Award. She will also answer questions and autograph books.
Community dinner
Arlee Indian Club is hosting a community dinner to honor the American Indian students who have successfully met the requirements to graduate from Arlee High School. The dinner is at 6 p.m. in the new school cafeteria on May 25. Indian tacos will be served. The event is free and open to the general public. Memorial dinner
The family of “Big Tom” would like to invite everybody to a dinner, May 28, at the Arlee Community Center on Powwow Road at noon. Please feel free to bring a side dish or dessert.
BioDiesel seminar

Chicken dinner
Mission Valley United Methodist Church, located at the top of Post Creek hill, will once again serve a Memorial Day chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on May 30.
Polson baccalaureate
The Polson Class of 2011 Baccalaureate service will be held in the PHS Auditorium on Thursday, June 2 from 6-7 p.m. All 2011 graduates, family, friends and community members are invited to attend this service featuring special music and speakers.
Free food program
A free summer food program starts on June 13 at the Salish Kootenai College Joe McDonald Fitness Gymnasium, Elmo Community Center, St. Ignatius Tribal Fitness/Community Center and Arlee Community Center.
Open to Kids Ages 18 and under, there will be a free breakfast from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and free lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday until August 25. Each site will also provide a physical activity in between breakfast and lunch.
