Well, we got that long fall I was hoping for. I actually got most everything done outside, ready for the long hibernation. It will be fun to see what makes it through the winter’s resting time. I hope the bears found enough to sustain them. I had my first encounter with a wild animal invading my garage, collecting food in a hidden place under some steps, chewing bites out of stored potatoes, tomatoes, apples — knocking things off shelves and chewing into boxes. My search and rescue nephew came to the rescue and captured the critter — a packrat! First on a night camera, then in a trap. It even showed up on Facebook! Interesting life out in the country. And how about those Missions? Snow makes them even more awesome.

Well, here we are well into the second week of a “two hour” project. The walls have been painted, the carpet has been installed, and most of the furnishings are back in the office. Now the hard part begins — putting everything back where it belongs. Thanks to all who donated to the center for this project, and thanks to Dave for the great paint job and to Alex and crew for getting the carpet in so quickly and for doing a wonderful job.
If you missed the COA’s dinner, you missed a great meal. The girls in the COA office have put in countless hours to make this such an enjoyable dinner. Thanks to them and to all who donated their time and effort, and thanks to all who donated for the silent auction. This is all very much appreciated.
