POLSON - Polson faced two of the top teams in the Northern A conference last week and while they dropped both matches, they should still be in position pick up the No. 3 seed in league play and move on to the state playoffs.

For that you can thank Polson's ability to get the ball to their young scorers, who are quickly developing into a force that will be reckoned with for years to come.

Whitefish downed Polson 9-0 last Tuesday, Sept. 27, getting 30 shots on goal. Columbia Falls took down the Lady Pirates 7-0 last Saturday underneath the lights at the Polson Sports Complex.

Both teams have had excellent seasons so far this year, and Columbia Falls remains unbeaten in conference play with their victory over the Lady Pirates at 6-0. They also have the No. 1 and No. 2 goal scorers in the state on their roster.

Polson now turns its attention to two conference games to finish the season against Bigfork and Libby. The Lady Pirates defeated Bigfork 3-0 and Libby 3-1 earlier in the season and they will be looking to wrap up that postseason bid with similar performances against them.

Polson travels up to Bigfork on Thursday to play the Lady Vals, and then they'll play in their final home game of the year on Saturday with a homecoming matchup against Libby at noon.
