Senior Cody Sheridan was deadly through the air with 172 yards and four touchdowns, the first of which was a 3-yard pass to junior Christian Haynes to put the Warriors up 7-0 in the first quarter.

"He's a good quarterback and can really throw the ball," Arlee head coach Matt Rogers said.

Senior Zach Tameler, the Tecmo Super Bowl version of Barry Sanders, gave Arlee a 14-0 lead with a 3-yard run in the second quarter before Darby scored on two long pass plays to make the halftime score 14-12.

Arlee came out strong in the second half, with a 1-yard scoring run by junior running back workhorse Lane Wilson and another touchdown pass from Sheridan to Haynes 12 yards out for the 27-12 advantage.

"Lane is a hard-nosed kid and he's going to run hard and gets the yards he wants," Rogers said.

The fourth quarter turned into a shootout with 42 points being scored between both teams and the Warriors coming out on top. Darby scored two touchdowns to pull within one at 27-26, but Sheridan pulled off some Drew Brees-esque late game heroics and threw a 55-yard scoring strike to Tameler, followed by a 29-yard touchdown pass to Haynes for the 41-26 lead.

"We kind of had to refocus the kids there," Rogers said. Darby would get another score, but Tameler finished things off with a 5-yard run to round out the scoring. Tameler finished the game with 162 yards rushing and two touchdowns, while Haynes had 64 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

"With a running game it really opens things up and allows us to throw the football," Rogers said.

Next up for the Warriors is a road game at Seeley-Swan, who is 0-6 on the season. Sweeley-Swan has given up over 70 points four times this season, and over 80 points twice.

Last week they lost to Lincoln 76-18.
