PLAINS - The Mission Bulldogs haven't missed a step from last season.

Facing Plains in the first game of the season, the Bulldogs went to the ground and steamrolled the Horsemen with a 41-0 victory last Friday night.

"We controlled the ball pretty well and we maintained some drives," Mission head coach Rich Ferris said.

It was a two-headed attack with junior Dylan Evans rushing for 89 yards and Austin Durglo rushed for 85 yards.

Mission opened up an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter before scoring three touchdowns in the second quarter for a 34-0 lead. The Bulldogs added another touchdown after halftime as the defense held strong for the shutout.

"They came out and gave it their all," Ferris said. "The offensive line played well. We were controlling the tempo of the game."

This is the second straight year that the Bulldogs have defeated Plains, which was in a co-op with Hot Springs last season. Last year they downed the Horsemen 59-22 late in the season.

Mission will host Cut Bank this Friday in their home opener for the year.
