Arlee Homecoming: UNSTOPPABLE
Arlee Warriors scorch Philipsburg defense in homecoming
victory
ARLEE - Still looking for a fantasy football running back? You might want to pick up Arlee's senior running back, Zach Tameler.
The arcade-game-like season continues for Tameler, who ran for 252 total yards and six touchdowns in a 50-28 victory over Philipsburg on Friday for the Warriors' homecoming.
Arlee jumped out to a 14-0 lead thanks to an eight-yard running TD by Tameler four minutes into the game and a Favre-esque heave by Arlee quarterback Cody Sheridan for a 60-yard touchdown to receiver Jesse Durham at the 5:48 mark in the first.
The scoring would just continue. Tameler scored on a 14-yard run to begin the second quarter, and after a Philipsburg touchdown, would score again on a 72-yard touchdown run to make it 28-8 with 1:43 to go in the half.
The Prospectors would run a kickoff back and score a touchdown with 13.6 seconds left on the clock to make it close going into halftime, 28-22.
However, they weren't so lucky in the second half.
It was all Arlee as Tameler ran for three more touchdowns en route to the victory. Zack Carver also ran for 52 yards in the contest, while Sheridan threw for 124 yards.
After what appeared to be a brief lull in the second quarter, the Warriors came out with fire after halftime and scored on their opening possession to set the tone.
Tameler had rushed for 117 yards for the Warriors two weeks ago against Lincoln.
The Warriors were solid on defense and held Philipsburg to just 243 yards of total offense.
Arlee improved to 1-2 and will play at Noxon next week.
