Vikings get in another offensive battle against tough

competition

LINCOLN - Senior runningback Kolten Andrews caught a pair of touchdowns from junior Tra Ludeman and Ludeman added a score on the ground, but the Charlo Vikings fell to the Lincoln Lynx in a 50-36 barnburner Friday night.

Sophomore Jacen Petersen added a 45-yard touchdown run during the back-and-forth contest, but the Vikings couldn't overcome Lincoln's 38 second-half points as they fell to 1-2 on the season.

"We traded punches with them and were able to hang within two for most of the game, but in the fourth, we had three crucial turnovers," Charlo head coach Mike Krahn said.

Charlo and Lincoln alternated scores for most of the tilt, but it was the Lynx who scored 20 of the game's final 26 points to escape with the win.

"I was pleased with the physical play we brought, which is always stressed," Krahn said. "We gave a great effort and battled hard."

Sophomore Tyler Delaney added a nine-yard touchdown reception in the contest for the Vikings, who now look ahead to a meeting with Darby High School. Krahn reassured his players that they just need to stay the course in preparation for that affair.

"I told the kids, ‘just go back to work,'" said Krahn. "I'm never disappointed with their effort. We just have to clean things up and get back to fundamentals. Keep plugging away."

Charlo will travel to Darby on Friday, Sept. 16 for a 7 p.m. meeting with the Tigers.
