Skyline Drive / TIGER Project Update
With the good weather and fairly long daylight hours, Skyline Drive re-build is progressing at a steady pace. The prime contractor has stated they now have two full crews in place and may bring in yet a third to expedite the progress. Excessive ground water has been an obstacle and is expected to decrease with the scheduled shut down of the “C” Canal on Sept. 15.
The “Notice to Proceed” for Phase 2A is expected to be issued late this week. Phase 2A is primarily the re-build/re-route of Mission View and replacement of the bridge over the “Pablo Feeder” canal at the base of Skyline Drive.
A new set of detours will be assembled effective Thursday, Sept. 15. In the Rung Lane area as follows:
One Way East/Southbound Traffic:
Traffic will be detoured from 1st Street to Main at 10th Ave., then south on Main to 12th Ave., then turning right on 12th, continuing to 2nd St. W., then heading southbound, next turning left on 17th Ave. until a detour barricade which brings you on a right turn up through the residential area and back out through Rung Lane.
Northbound Skyline Traffic:
Downhill one lane, northbound traffic from Demeres Heights through 10th Ave. then back to two-way traffic from there.
