Six-Man FB: Eags can stand the Heat
The challenge was very formidable for the Two Eagle Eagles, but they handled themselves very well and played hard from whistle to whistle in a 62-14 defeat at the hands of the fourth-ranked Hot Springs Savage Heat.
"They didn't quit or give up," Two Eagle Athletic Director Jami Hanson said. "They kept playing. A few of them got banged up, but they grinded it out."
Clayton Malatare had two fourth-quarter touchdown strikes to get the Eagles on the board. Malatare found Jay Ducharme on a 25-yard pass before hitting Drew Payne from 48 yards out to give Two Eagle their scoring for the night. Malatare also added a two-point kick after their first conversion came up short.
"They're finishing, that's the main thing," said Hanson of the Eagles, who went toe-to-toe with one of the state's top six-man teams and didn't back down.
Two Eagle also had a nice crowd on hand to witness their kids leave a complete effort out on the field.
"It was nice seeing people come out," said Hanson.
