Pachyderms meet

David Galt, executive director of the Montana Petroleum Association, will be the featured speaker at the Lake County Pachyderm Club on Friday, April 13 at noon at the Rural Fire Hall in Polson. Galt will discuss historic oil and gas activity in Montana. The meeting will be preceded by social time with brown bag lunches at 11:30.

Valley View potluck

The monthly Valley View potluck will be Sunday, April 15 at 5 p.m. at the Valley View Clubhouse. Bring your favorite dish to share and come enjoy some company. Call Kelly Bailey at 883-2910 with questions.

Bowhunter ed

The next local classes for bowhunter education are scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday, April 17 and 19, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Polson. There is also a field day on Saturday, April 21 from 8-11:30 a.m. Participants are required to attend all three and pass a written test to receive certification. Flathead Basin meets

Members of the Flathead Basin Commission will hold a meeting on April 18 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Tribal Council Chambers in Pablo. Topics on the agenda include a discussion of the proposed draft action plan and prevention planning for aquatic invasive species. For more information, contact the FBC at 240-3453.

Date night

North Lake County Public Library will show a classic movie on Friday, April 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the meeting room. The event is free and will be accompanied by popcorn, candy, nuts and beverages. The movie, which commemorates a historic event and is over three hours long, will end in time to take your date to dinner! Call or stop by the library for more information.

Spring clean

Ronan’s annual Spring Cleaning will be on Saturday, April 21 at 9 a.m at the Ronan City Park. Meet there, grab some gloves and trash bags and help clean the town and park. Please come help, everyone is welcome.

Alzheimer’s seminar

The Area VI Agency on Aging, in partnership with Polson Community Church, will sponsor an Alzheimer’s seminar on April 23 at 1 p.m. at Polson Community Church. Carolyn Heinz will be the guest speaker, talking about her personal experience dealing with the disease. If you have questions, please call Kathi at 883-7284.

Big Arm potluck

Dr. E.B. Eiselein, professor at the Flathead Valley Community College, will be the guest speaker at the Big Arm potluck on Friday, April 27 at 6 p.m. Eiselein’s presentation, beginning at 7, is based on Indian oral traditions and the archaeological record, will describe Indian cultures prior to European contact. Arbor Day

The Ronan Tree and Beautification Board designated April 27 as the day to observe Arbor Day at a recent meeting and will hold a workshop at Ronan City Park at 6:30 p.m. to demonstrate how to plant and care for trees. Trees will also be made available for pickup. If you’re interested, stop by the county extension office and sign up.

Golden Loon

Over 100 K-6 Ronan and Pablo students will perform “Indy and Anna and the Golden Loon” in the Ronan Performing Arts Center on April 27-28.

Spay/neuter clinic

The Brian Anderson Memorial Spay/Neuter Clinic will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13 by appointment only. For a reservation, call 824-SPAY (7729) 8 a.m.-6 p.m. starting Monday, April 16.

Wellness deadline

April 12 is the deadline to register to be a vendor for the annual Women 4 Wellness Health Matters, Yours, Mine and Ours on May 17 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center. For more info, contact Niki Graham at 406-275-4920.

PC Discussion

Brushfires of Freedom is sponsoring a movie and discussion about political correctness and how it’s destroying our country on Thursday, April 26 from 7-9 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center.

Resource fair

There will be a Resource Fair at SKC on May 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Any non-profit, agency or civic organization is welcome to have a table at the event for free.
