Have you got all of your yard work done yet? It is so nice to be out on the rare occasions that the sun is shining, but I’m not out there to work in the flower beds. To me, that is a good way to waste a sunny day. The Veterans rep will be here this Thursday (12th) from 1 until 3 in the afternoon.
This Thursday is also our evening meal at 5 p.m. We will be serving pork roast. As with all of our meals, this meal is open to the public, no matter what your age is. Cards will be played here on the 16th, at 7 p.m. They have gone back to their summer hours.
The foot clinic will be here on the 18th, from 10:30 until noon. You don’t need an appointment, but you need to have your name on the list, as they have time for only 10 people. So give me a call at 676-2371 and we will get you signed up.
This Friday (the 13th) is the last day to get your taxes done, so give us a call and we can put your name on the list. Thanks to Kay and Tom from AARP for all of the hours they have put in at the senior centers to get taxes done.
The Council on Aging will again be having a luncheon on May 5 from noon until 2 p.m. This luncheon is advertised as a “Mother-Daughter” luncheon, but all ladies are invited to attend. You need to purchase the tickets in advance. Call them at 676-2367 or 676-2368 for more information and to purchase the tickets. If you attended this luncheon last year, you will remember what a wonderful job the ladies from the COA did, and how much everyone enjoyed it.
Our menu for the following week: Wednesday (11th) is Shepherd’s Pie, Thursday (12th) is roast pork, Friday (13th) is calico beans, Monday (16th) is barbecue ribs and Wednesday (18th) is chicken. You don’t have to be a member of the center to join us for our meals. Have a great week.

The bears are out of hibernation. Mary and Betty have been quilting some darling bear quilts lately. There is a Care Bear Quilt, a Blue Jean Teddy Quilt and they did a wonderful Bubbles and Bears Quilt. So stop in and take a look.
There will be another Hearing Screening on Tuesday, April 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you are having some difficulties with your hearing, stop by and Nathan will see what he can do for you. No appointment is necessary.
We still have some openings for the AARP Driving Class. It will be here at the center on April 24th starting at 9 a.m. If you want to take this class give us a call at 883-4735 and we’ll get you on the list. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and that the bunny dropped off a little candy for you all. Have a really great week and we’ll talk again soon.
