On March 30-31, four Junior Bible Quiz teams from Polson competed at the state meet in Helena. Twelve teams from Montana met in Helena to compete over the Bible information studied this season. Polson had two “A” teams of fifth and sixth grade kids that finished in first and third place. Polson also had two “B” teams of second through sixth grade kids that finished in first and fourth place statewide.

Quizzer Carson McDaniel finished first, Claire Hanke finished third and Gabe Doll finished fifth place overall with individual points in the “A” league. Quizzer Kellen Wright finished second and Malachi Warneke finished third overall the “B” league. It was an exciting weekend for the Polson teams to do so well at the state meet.

JBQ teams compete with teams from other communities by answering the studied questions. There are 576 questions that quizzers study each week during the season, which is October through March. Pastor Jon Warneke, children’s pastor at New Life said, “We are so proud of all the quizzers and coaches this year — they did a great job.”

The “A” teams will be going to Spokane, Wash., May 4-5, for the Regional JBQ competition with the top teams from the Northwest Region.
