Here's a roundup of Polson FC soccer action!

U16 Boys

The U16 boys extracted a measure of revenge against FC Missoula this weekend after losing to them earlier this season.

Polson came prepared the second time around and tied FC Missoula 1-1 after Max Takarov scored off a rebound from a Sam Heutmaker shot. U16 goalkeeper Trevor Basler made some great saves in the contest.

Spencer Raymont, Andrew Lichte, Dylan Cooper and Sutton Kanta anchored a stalwart defense for the team. Polson FC also dropped a 3-0 contest to the Flathead Force.

U13 Boys

The U13 boys traveled up to Whitefish this weekend and showed a lot of character. They bounced back from a first game loss to the Kootenai Rapids, 4-1, and clamped down on defense against Ravailli for the 2-0 victory.

U16 Girls

The young Polson FC girls team played well against older competition but fell in both games, 3-1 to the Kalispell Premier and 6-0 to Whitefish. Both teams had multiple 18 year-olds on the roster.

“Playing against the older girls will improve our girls’ game in the long run and it will benefit them in high school soccer,” coach Heidi Howell said.

U11 Girls

Madison Peterson scored on goal for Polson FC but the team fell in its first two games of the season to the Missoula Strikers, 3-1 and 3-0.

“We were trying out some new positions and lineups,” coach Heather Howell said. “I was really impressed with how hard the girls played and am looking for forward to seeing them improve.”

Peterson got an assist from Ashlee Howell’s corner kick for the goal. The U11 squad will play in a Jamboree in Whitefish this weekend.

U10/11 Boys

Polson FC played two unscored games against the Missoula Strikers and looked good for being a young team.

“They had a good time playing and they made hard passes,” coach Robin Wallace said.

Wallace was impressed with the goalkeeping of Davis Smith and Xavier while Joseph McDonald and Daniel Leas was also stellar.

The squad will head to Whitefish to play this weekend.
