Cruisen By the Bay
Catch the classic cars cruise through the area beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10. The cruise will cover outlying areas, scenic drive, a parade down Main Street at 6:30, and end at Riverside Park. A free concert will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Riverside Park, featuring Andre Floyd & The Mood Iguana. Cars will be parked on Main Street for viewing starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, and the awards ceremony will commence at 3 p.m. with a parade of winners. Saturday night’s free concert features the Bop-A-Dips, performing from 7 to 10 p.m. at Riverside Park. Cruisen by the Bay Seeks Volunteers The Cruisen By the Bay Information Booth is in need of volunteers for Saturday, Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are in need of two or three people per shift, shift suggestions are: 8 to 10:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The information booth is located at the Glacier Bank Drive-up location. Sandpiper Lake County Art Festival
The 41st annual Sandpiper Lake County Art Festival takes place on the Polson Courthouse lawn Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in conjunction with the “Cruisen By the Bay” Vintage Car Show. There will be fine art originals in all media, jewelry, handmade furniture, birdhouses, hand-sewn items, stained glass, rosemaling, pottery, candles and sculpture and many other interesting and unique items. In addition to the many returning artists, there will be new artists displaying in this popular juried event. There will be varied musical entertainment throughout the day. Class of ‘92 reunion

Brushfires of Freedom Meets Local group Brushfires of Freedom will meet on Aug. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center. Library Celebrates 100 Years
North Lake County Public Library is observing 100 years of library service with special events for the community. The kick-off celebration will be a free ice cream social on Monday, Aug. 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the library meeting room. Enjoy ice cream while perusing a traveling author exhibit and listening to barber shop music. Calendars will also be available to be used for special prize drawings. SKC Opens Business Assistance Center
The Business Department at Salish Kootenai College recently opened a center to provide business assistance to local citizens who desire to start a new business or grow an existing one. The center is available to provide help with business planning, feasibility studies, marketing, financing and accounting, and general business consulting services. The new center is a joint effort between the Johnson Scholarship Foundation and Salish Kootenai College, and is currently open during regular business hours Monday-Thursday. Polson Middle School Open House
Polson Middle School will be holding an open house on Thursday, Aug. 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Parents and students are invited to come enjoy a barbecue and tour the building.
