Kerr Dam History Lecture

People’s Center Powwow

Smokin’ on the Water
The Fourth Annual Smokin’ On The Water BBQ Cook-Off is sponsored by the Polson Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Library Celebrates 100 Years
North Lake County Public Library is observing 100 years of library service with special events for the community. The kick-off celebration will be a free ice cream social on Monday, Aug. 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the library meeting room. Enjoy ice cream while perusing a traveling author exhibit and listening to barber shop music. Calendars will also be available to be used for special prize drawings. Arlee Community Development Meeting
The Arlee Community Development Corporation will hold its August meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 6:00pm in the Arlee Fitness Center on Pow Wow Road in Arlee. The meeting is open to the public. SKC Opens Business Assistance Center
The Business Department at Salish Kootenai College recently opened a center to provide business assistance to local citizens who desire to start a new business or grow an existing one. The center is available to provide help with business planning, feasibility studies, marketing, financing and accounting, and general business consulting services. The new center is a joint effort between the Johnson Scholarship Foundation and Salish Kootenai College, and is currently open during regular business hours Monday-Thursday. Services are free and available to anyone in the valley. Call 275-4853 for an appointment.
Charlo First Day of School
The first day of school for the Charlo School District will be Aug. 22. A school calendar and all back-to-school information can be found at www.charlo.k12.mt.us. Updates and additional information will also be posted on the school website throughout the year. Supply lists, lunch forms and calendars are available at the school.
Flathead River Rodeo
The Flathead River Rodeo will be held at the Polson Fairgrounds Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 23-25 with nightly performances at 6:30 p.m. Call 406-883-3636 with any questions. Polson Middle School Open House Polson Middle School will hold an open house on Thursday, Aug. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. Parents and students are invited to come enjoy a barbecue and tour the building.
