Here's a recap of what happened in Lake County basketball action

last night (Feb. 3).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Arlee 51, Noxon 49

NOXON - The Scarlets improved to 5-2 in their district with a 51-49 victory over Noxon on Friday night.

Mahalia Hendren scored 18 points and Arlee held off a late rally by the Lady Red Devils for victory. Noxon held the initial 12-10 led after the first quarter but Arlee bounced back in the second with a 17-11 run that made it 27-23 going into halftime.

The Scarlets built their lead to 41-34 headed into the fourth. While Noxon went on a 15-10 run, it was a little too late and Arlee got the win.

Whitney Malatare also scored 15 points for the Scarlets. They're now 8-6 on the season.

Noxon - 12 - 11 - 11 - 15 - 49

BOYS BASKETBALL

Deer Lodge 52, Ronan 44

RONAN - A 23-11 third quarter run by Deer Lodge put the in the driver's seat for a 52-44 victory over Ronan on Friday.

Both teams were knotted at 13-13 at halftime before Deer Lodge jumped to a 36-24 lead going into the fourth. Ronan did go on a 20-16 run in the fourth but it wasn't enough for a complete comeback.

Robbie Gauthier led the Chiefs with 11 points and Marcus Hungerford had eight.

Ronan is now 7-8 on the season.

Ronan - 9 - 4 - 11 - 20 - 44

Superior 58, Charlo 55

SUPERIOR - It was a close battle the entire way, but Superior was able to get a slim edge on the Vikings for 58-55 victory on Friday.

The Bobcats led 29-21 at halftime but Charlo went on a 10-4 run in the third and only trailed 33-31 going into the fourth quarter. The pace got furious as both teams combined for a total of 49 points in the period with Superior added one point to their lead.

Kolten Andrews led the team with 19 points and Dillon Delaney added 17.

Charlo's record is now 10-4 on the season and 6-4 in the district.

Noxon 51, Arlee 45

NOXON - Noxon jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 51-45 victory over Arlee on Friday.

Noxon jumped out to a 26-12 lead at halftime, but Arlee crawled back, outscoring the Devils 14-8 in the third quarter and 19-17 in the fourth.

Brandon Hergett scored 12 and Josh Reed added 11 to lead the Warriors.

Arlee's record is now 7-8 on the season and 4-5 in their district.
