Lake County District Court, Judge Christopher presiding

*The following District Court proceedings took place on Jan. 26.

-State of Montana vs. Floyd Hammer; the matter before the court is sentencing. For the offense of Criminal Possession with Intent to Distribute, a felony, the court sentences the defendant to the Montana State Prison for a term of 20 years.

-State of Montana vs. Cherish LaChance; the matter before the court is sentencing. For the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, a felony, the court commits the defendant to the DOC for a term of 13 months. In addition the defendant is committed to the DOC for a term of two years, with all that time suspended.

-State of Montana vs. Autumn Desjarlais; the matter before the court is change of plea. Acknowledgement of Rights and Plea Agreement ordered filed. The court has reviewed and accepts the plea agreement. Defendant sworn and understands the rights his is waiving. Defendant admits committing the ammended offense of Criminal Possesion of Dangerous Drugs, a felony. The court makes its findings accepts the plea and finds the defendant guilty of the charge. Sentencing is set for Thursday, March 1 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. a 17-year old boy; the matter before the court is change of plea. Acknowledgement of Rights and Plea Agreement ordered filed. The court indicates that part of this agreement is that this case is transferred back to Youth Court. The court has reviewed and accepts the plea agreement. Defendant admits committing the ammended offense of Sexual Assault, a felony. The court makes its findings, accepts the plea and finds the defendant guilty of the charge. Parties agree to transfer this matter to Youth Court for final adjudication and disposition. The defendant shall be supervised by adult probation until he reaches the age of 25. Council requests to reserve the right to the defendant to petition the court for early termination after he has served half of his deferred sentence. Request granted providing the probation officer agrees. Sentencing is set for Thursday, March 8 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Desiree Peone; the matter before the court is arraignment. Defendant pleads not guilty to the charges of Criminal Possesion of Dangerous Drugs, felony. The court sets an omnibus hearing on Thursday, March 15 at 9 a.m. with a jury trial commencing on Monday, April 23 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Jeremiah Spotted Blanket; the matter before the court is arraignment. Defendant pleads not guilty to charges of Criminal Possesion of Dangerous Drugs, a felony. The court sets this matter for omnibus hearing on Thursday, March 1 at 9 a.m. with a jury trial commencing on Monday, April 23 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montan vs. Yancy McCrea; the matter before the court is arraignment. Defendant pleads not guilty to charges of Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a felony. The court sets this matter for omnibus hearing on Thursday, March 15 at 9 a.m. with a jury trial commencing on Monday, April 23 at 9 a.m.

-Rindi Hornseth; 22. Failure to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle - second offense. Fined $350 and two days in jail.

-Krystal Goodsell; 23. Driving without a valid driver’s license. Fined $250 and 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended. Operating without liability insurance in effect - second offense. Fined $350 and 10 days in jail with 10 days suspended.

-Aimee McManus; 39. Operating with alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent BAC or greater - first offense. Fined $500 and 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended.

-Harry Vanbouchaute; 66. Driving without a valid driver’s license. Fined $250 and 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended. Failure to proof or exhibit/insurance in vehicle - owner and operator - first offense. Fined $150 and 10 days in jail with 10 days suspended.

-Evan Russell; 35. Failure to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle - owner or operator - second offense. Fined $350 and 10 days in jail with 8 days suspended.

Polson City Court, Judge Olson presiding

-Betty Kelton-Bucklew; 76. Failure to yield right of way, passing rule. Fined $50.

-Taylor Shield; 24. Driving under the influence of alcohol - second offense. Fined $700 and seven days in jail. Driving a motor vehicle while privledge to do so is suspended or revoked. Fined $250 and seven days in jail. Owner permitting operation of vehicle without liability insurance - second offense. Fined $350.
