We certainly live in an area that has a lot of beautiful scenery to offer. The Missions are so pretty with all of the fresh snow, and even the cloudy skies have their own type of beauty. However, nice sunny skies would even be better to look at.

The Veterans rep will be here this Thursday (9th) from 1-3 p.m. If you have any questions about your military benefits, this rep is the one you need to talk to.

This Thursday is also the day of our monthly evening meal. We will be serving a great pork roast dinner from 5 until 6:30. All are invited to attend. This month, the COA and the Senior Nutrition Program will also be having a bake sale that evening and on Friday during the lunch hour. So, come in a join us for a great meal, and buy your Valentine some treats at the same time.

The AARP Tax reps will be here every Friday between now and the middle of April. If you need help with your taxes, give us a call at 676-2371, and we will set you up with an appointment. This is a free service offered to seniors through AARP.

The Foot Clinic will be here on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 10:30 until noon. Give us a call to be put on the list. The card party will be held here at the Ronan Senior Center on Monday, Feb. 20 at 1:30 p.m.

The Senior Nutrition Program will be having a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, Feb. 19, from 1-4 p.m. Kids 5 and younger eat free. This is a fundraiser to help with the expenses of running the Nutrition Program. With all of the government cutbacks, programs such as this one are not receiving the funds that they have in the past, and this is just one way of making up for the loss of the funding. The Nutrition Program not only provides meals here at the center, but we also deliver hot meals to several housebound seniors in the Ronan and Pablo areas.

We are still collecting the aluminum cans to be re-cycled. Please drop off your donations at the back of the building.

Have a great week, and get out and enjoy the nicer weather. A great way to do that is to go have lunch with your friends at your local senior center.

It’s looked like pre-spring weather for quite some time! I have received plenty of flower/garden info coming in the mail, trying to make me eager to get out in the gardens. I don’t have my winter work finished yet!

There’s still time to reserve a table for the monthly flea market Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Dixon Senior Center, or just plan to come browse and have some lunch and dessert. It starts at 10 and goes until 3. Call Joey at 246-3526 or Delene at 246-3271 for more information.

We were pleased to welcome the Dixon School Honor Roll Students who walked over to the center for lunch last week. We all are proud of their efforts to succeed in their studies. A coming event put on by the Dixon School students is a Sweetheart Dinner on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, Feb. 14. I attended last year — it was nice to see the servers dressed up and using fine manners. Plan to come enjoy a roast beef dinner from 6-8 p.m. Call Dixon School at 246-3566 for information.

We have fabulous February food — come enjoy at 5 p.m. on Mondays and noon every Thursday. Thursday, Feb. 9 elk roast; Monday, Feb. 13 chicken/dumplings; Thursday, Feb. 16 teriyaki meal balls; Monday, Feb. 20 ham dinner.
