Warriors wrap up season
RONAN - It's probably not a coincidence that the two teams Arlee
lost to last weekend in the district tournament will be lacing up
their shoes for the Western C Divisional Tournament this
weekend.
Arlee played Two Eagle and Noxon tough, but couldn't quite break
through for victory and finished the season 8-12. The Warriors
started the tournament on Thursday with a battle against the
Eagles. While they stayed in striking distance for the entire game,
Two Eagle was able to come away with the 57-44 victory.

Arlee played Two Eagle and Noxon tough, but couldn't quite break through for victory and finished the season 8-12. The Warriors started the tournament on Thursday with a battle against the Eagles. While they stayed in striking distance for the entire game, Two Eagle was able to come away with the 57-44 victory.
Arlee played Two Eagle tough in the first quarter and trailed just 14-13 after it ended. At halftime, the Warriors were down 33-21 but made a run in the third quarter and outscored the Eagles 11-7.
Two Eagle pulled away from Arlee in the fourth quarter which sent the Warriors into the consolation bracket. Christian Haynes continued his great play for the Warriors that he showed during the regular season. He led the team with 14 points, while Mark Fullerton, Junior Sansavere and Brandon Hergett all had seven points apiece.
In its second game of the tournament, Arlee faced another tough team in Noxon. The Warriors outplayed the Red Devils in the final three quarters but a slow start to the game hurt them in a 58-48 loss.
Noxon jumped out to an 18-5 lead in the first quarter, but the Warriors outscored them 43-40 in the rest of the game.
Haynes again led the team with 18 points while Sansavere added 13.
The Warriors forced 17 turnovers, but went 5-for-18 from the three-point line.
While their season has come to an end, there should be plenty of bright chapters for Arlee in the future.
With lots of new faces on the team this year, it was a growing season for the Warriors. They should have plenty of returning starters next year with head coach Dustin Keltner at the helm, and that added experience should lead to more victories.
