Play auditions

Calling all kids K-8! Auditions for the musical “Babes To Broadway” will be Friday, Jan. 6 from 3:45-6 p.m. on stage at Polson High School. Everyone gets a part. Two groups will be cast. After two weeks of rehearsal, the public performances for the show will be Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20 and 21 on the PHS stage. Those wishing to audition are reminded they will need a bus note from home to ride to auditions and rehearsals.

Free dinner

The Polson Churches invite you to the Family and Friendship Table for free dinner on Friday, Jan. 6 from 5-7 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1002 Fourth Ave. E. Each Friday, a different church will host the dinner. Join us for fabulous fellowship and great food, everyone is welcome!

Pizza and Politics

Pizza and Politics, a special non-partisan event for all local teenagers, will be held Monday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Mission Valley Christian Academy, 38907 MT Hwy. 35, Polson. Pizza and beverages are free and the event will feature local speakers fresh out of high school sharing their experience from the Presidential Debate in Las Vegas this fall.

Polson Entrepreneurs

A first meeting of Polson Entrepreneurs will take place at the Old World Deli on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 5 p.m. The founders of www.whocanhelp.com will be speaking about their company. Local entrepreneurs in the technology and innovation space fields or those living in our area but selling goods, products and services outside the area are encouraged to attend.

Thyme for Herbs

“Using herbs in Our Everyday Lives” will be the topic of the next gathering of the “Thyme for Herbs” group, which will meet Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. at the North Lake County Public Library (formerly Polson Public Library) in Meeting Room 2, First Avenue East (use the side door). Anyone interested in learning about herbs is encouraged to join us.

DOVES meeting

The DOVES monthly Resource Roundtable meeting will take place Wednesday, Jan. 11 at noon at the Lake County Health Department at 802 Main St. in Polson. The meeting will feature a presentation on resources available for low-income clients. For more information, call 883-3350 or visit www.doveslakecounty.org.

Trustees meet

The monthly trustee meeting of the Polson Rural Fire District will take place Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Station. All residents of the Polson Rural Fire District and interested general public are encouraged to attend. Residents’ questions and ideas help to keep the trustees informed and assist them in formulating their decisions.

LCSC meets

The Lake County Service Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Late Louis Caye Sr. Memorial Building at Salish-Kootenai College. Volunteers are also needed county-wide for the Jan. 26 Point-in-Time Survey. Call 240-0640 for more information.

Masumola Club

The Masumola Club meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, at the Clubhouse. The social gathering begins at 5:45 p.m., potluck at 6:30 and program at 7. Anyone in the community of Polson and the surrounding area is invited to attend this meeting as a guest or to join the club and enjoy friendship, meetings and interesting programs. The only requirement for new guests is to bring your own utensils and a dish to pass if you wish. For membership information contact Irene Marchello at 406-883-6184.

Awards available

Soroptomist International of Polson is proud to sponsor three awards to qualifying applicants. The Fellowship Award, Women’s Opportunity Award and Vo-Tech award will be presented in the following weeks to individuals looking to further their educational experience. Blood drive

The Charlo Community Blood Drive will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18 from 1-6 p.m. in the Charlo gym. Please call Sharon Hertz at 644-2206 x244 to schedule an appointment.

Bigfork players

Those interested in being involved with Bigfork Community Players non-professional theater group are encouraged to attend the Bigfork Community Players annual winter meeting on Sunday, Jan. 22 from 3-5 p.m. at the Raven located at 25999 MT Hwy. 35, 4.5 miles south of Bigfork. No experience is needed to join in the fun both on and off the stage, light refreshments will be served and a no-host bar will be provided. Members will vote to elect three positions on the Board of Directors. John Goroski, Mary Whitney and Karen Kolar have been nominated. Nominations from the floor are welcome.

RMS play

The Ronan Middle School students will present the play “Sea to Shining Sea” on Jan. 27-28 at the Ronan Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. The play written by director Rita Tingey will be a tribute to America, Freedom, and all those who served our nation to help keep us free.

Coupons for families

Area VI RSVP will be collecting manufacturer food coupons for military families stationed overseas. The commissaries overseas will accept coupons up to six months past their due dates. The project will run for the month of January, then coupons will be packaged and mailed. Here in Lake County we will have drop off boxes at Ronan VFW open 8-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, Polson Community Senior Center open 8-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and the Area VI Agency on Aging open Monday-Friday 8.-5 p.m.

Stamp Club

The Glacier Stamp Club will meet on Monday Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Members and visitors welcome.
