Here is a roundup of what happened in Lake County basketball

last night.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Deer Lodge 61, Ronan 57

Ronan had a 32-14 halftime lead against Deer Lodge on Thursday night but couldn't hold on as the Wardens came away with the 61-57 victory.

The Chiefs' defense was impressive in the first half as they held Deer Lodge to single digits in both the first and second quarter. However, the Wardens started the second half off with a 22-10 run to pill within six points.

In the fourth quarter, Deer Lodge outscored Ronan 25-15 for the win. Chiefs' senior Robbie Gauthier and Brady Oakland led the team with 14 apiece. Cartson Baertsch had 12.

Ronan's record is now (0-3, 2-4)

Arlee 46, St. Mission 42

A young Arlee team picked up a big win over Class B Mission, 46-42 on Thursday despite a late push by the Bulldogs.

Junior Sansavere had 11 points to lead his team while Josh Reed had 10 and Christian Haynes had 8.

Arlee was able to gain a slight advantage in the first half, leading 19-17 at halftime. In the third quarter they outscored Mission 16-5 to make it 35-22.

The Bulldogs made their run in the fourth quarter and nearly pulled it off, outscoring the Warriors 20-11. Austin Durglo led the team with 12 while Stuart Grant had 10 points.

Arlee is 3-3, and Mission is 2-5.

Polson 79, Loyola 53

The Pirates have found another big weapon in their arsenal: Cody Fischer. Fischer led the team against Loyola on Thursday with 20 points and Polson won easily 79-53.

Jumping out to an early 28-12 lead, the Pirates maintained their lead and extended it in the second half for the victory.

Fischer is another Pirate showing he can carry the scoring load. Guard Vince DiGiallonardo scored 19, Zack Camel added 14 and Tyler Krell had 11 in an impressive display.

Camel got a double-double, also notching 10 assists and six steals.

Polson's record is now 4-1.
