VALLEY VIEW — Lake County Sheriff's deputies responded to a Valley View ranch on Saturday morning, June 30, 2012, to investigate the death of an adult cow. The cow's death appeared to be non-natural as some of the meat from the animal had been cut off and some of the organs were removed.

A local veterinarian responded to the ranch to perform a necropsy on the animal. Samples collected from the necropsy are being sent to a Colorado lab in order to determine the animal's cause of death. Based on the cow's condition, it appears that the animal was killed sometime around Wednesday June 27, 2012. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Crimestoppers at 883-7309. Ranchers experiencing any similar situations should contact the Sheriff's office.
