Dan's Column: ObamaTesterCare
The ante’s been raised for the choice you make at the ballot box in November.
According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, the cost of ObamaTesterCare is $1.76 trillion. The last best hope to avoid that expense is to think carefully about your choice for Senator.
And it’s a stark choice. Yes or no. Jon Tester supports ObamaTesterCare. Denny Rehberg opposes it. Your choice. All in. $1.76 trillion on the table.
It’s not surprising that Tester supported TesterObamaCare. After all, his voting record is 95% support for All Things Obama. His support of the largest tax increase in history on the middle class is a given. Barack wanted it, Jon voted for it. What else would you expect? And maybe that’s a good thing, in your opinion. The Congressional Budget Office says that 76 per cent of the folks paying for ObamaTesterCare will earn less than $120,000 per year. Maybe you like paying more taxes. Your choice is clear in November.
It’s unfortunate that the Supreme Court, in approving ObamaTesterCare, did not address the freedom of religion issues raised by Roman Catholic bishops. Even if you’re not of the Catholic persuasion you should be concerned for your Constitutional rights to worship as you please. TesterObamaCare will end up before the Supreme Court again on that basis. In the meantime, I’d wonder about my Second Amendment rights. If Tester is willing to trample — potentially — on freedom of religion because Obama tells him to do so, do you really trust him on gun rights, especially when you have an option? Obama, in his years as a ‘community organizer’ and an Illinois senator, was solidly anti-gun. Tester votes Obama 95 percent of the time. Those are the facts, regardless of the political spew you might hear from the Senator. Perhaps there’s no problem. Certainly there’s no court ruling on the issue - yet. Catholic bishops are concerned. Maybe you should be, too.
TesterObamaCare will be your choice in November. Remove the Barack-a-Lackeys from Congress, change the President, and you might save the country $1.76 trillion.
