The Council on Aging Transportation Department is desperately looking for volunteer drivers.  If you are interested in this opportunity to meet a new friend and also lend a helping hand please give Judy or Jan a call at 676-2368.  They will really appreciate hearing from you.

If you haven’t been in for a while be sure to stop by and see how beautiful our flowers are on the south side of the building.  Kaye and Kelli are doing a great job with them.  Also, we now have an automatic door opener on the south door for the convenience of our members.  Be sure to stop by and give it a try.

Dixon

Haven’t we been seriously entertained by the amazing electric storms lately! I wandered around by the light from the storm, trying to locate a flashlight ---how DARK it is without any house lights, except from my cell phone. A plus...I found out my apricots are getting ripe enough to enjoy, as I found many on the ground after a wild storm. It may be a long summer.

Plans are made for our seniors’ part in the coming Dixon Melon Day celebration in late August. We decided on the menu, prices and who’s doing what to get the dinner going. smoothly. Mr. Melon told me the crop of melons is doing nicely. So mark your calendar for Saturday, August 25 to be in Dixon!

Beginning the first Monday in August, our Monday night dinner will be served at 6 o’clock instead of at five. We will keep this time for the rest of Daylight Savings Time this year, then will follow the DST schedule .  Meals for the rest of July will be : Thurs., July 25 Stuffed pork chops; Monday, July 30  Oven baked chicken and noodles. Join us at noon on Thursdays and at five o’clock for the next Monday meal. It’s a handy way to easily feed your summer company!

Enjoy some of the many activities going on in our valleys, and invite someone along.
