FLATHEAD RESERVATION — On June 14, the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Mission Mountains Tribal Wilderness. The celebration will take place at the Mission Dam Recreation Area near St. Ignatius beginning at 11 a.m. and concluding at 3 p.m.

A light lunch will be served and all are welcome to attend. Bring your lawn chair and dress for the weather.

Many people have worked hard to establish the wilderness and their contributions will be celebrated. Since the establishment of the wilderness, much work has been done to preserve, maintain and restore its natural quality for future generations.

Contributions to this work will be recognized at the anniversary celebration. Guest speakers have been invited. For more information about the celebration or to volunteer to help contact Les Bigcrane or Germaine White at 883-2888.
